Vinted Finder is an independent iOS app. It is not an official Vinted feature. It turns a screenshot of the original into Vinted searches for the exact second-hand piece and for same energy pieces. Each result says how close it is. None of them are fakes.
What a dupe means here
Three honest levels
Each one has a label in the app. None of them are fakes.
Same brand, same model, listed on Vinted now.
The right piece with one small doubt. Another colour, last season's cut, or the next size up.
Same shape, same material, same feel. Usually much cheaper.
Looser matches get quieter labels. When nothing closer is listed, the app still shows pieces with the same feel, and says so.

The original: an AllSaints Balfern leather biker. Several hundred euros new, and sold out in the size you want. The screenshot is a mirror selfie with the jacket, a floral skirt and boots. The app pins all four pieces. You tap the jacket.
Found it:the exact Balfern in black, listed second-hand for a fraction of retail. The card shows the seller’s condition grade and the size. One tap opens it on Vinted.
Same energy:below it, other brands with the same shape. A belted biker from a high-street brand. A 90s vintage moto. A gold-hardware version. Each one has its own label, so you know what you’re looking at.

What this dupe finder won't do
Knowing where the app stops helps you trust what it does.
- No fakes. A listing that pretends to be a brand it isn't is a fake, not a dupe. The app won't send you to one.
- No fakes dressed up as finds. Same energy results are labelled as what they are: a different brand.
- No buying for you. Every purchase happens on Vinted, by you, at your pace.
- No promises. If the exact piece isn't listed today, the app says so and offers an alert.
Before you pay
Five checks before you buy
A dupe is only a win if it arrives as described. Two minutes on the listing saves a bad surprise.
- Condition: read the grade, then zoom in on every photo. Creased leather, pilled knits and worn soles show in the pictures.
- Seller: reviews and quick replies matter more than a pretty grid. Ask for one more photo if anything is unclear.
- Size: sizes drift between brands and decades. Ask for flat measurements and compare them with a piece you already wear.
- Shipping: check where it ships from. Add the postage before you fall for the price.
- Listing age: an old listing often means a seller open to offers. A fresh one means decide quickly.

Dupe finding, answered
Is using a dupe finder legal?
Yes. Looking for a second-hand version of something, or a similar style for less, is just shopping. Buying or selling fakes is not okay. That's why Vinted Finder never recommends them.
What does 'dupe' mean on this page?
Three honest things, each with a label in the app: the exact piece second-hand (found it), the same piece with a small difference (so close), or another brand with the same shape and material (same energy). Never a fake.
Will it find fake versions of designer items?
No. That is on purpose. Fakes aren't dupes. They are illegal to sell and usually badly made. The app looks for real second-hand listings and clearly labelled alternatives.
What do I give it: a link, a name, a description?
A screenshot. Screenshot the product page, the outfit, the pin or the story. The app reads the piece from the picture. A clear product shot works best. An outfit photo still works.
What if the exact piece isn't on Vinted yet?
Save the search. Vinted listings change all the time. The exact match often shows up days or weeks later. Vinted Finder runs the search again on a schedule and sends an alert when a better listing appears. That is what alerts are for.
