Privacy
The plain-English version of what Vinted Finder collects, what stays on your device, what leaves it, and who touches the data when the app helps search Vinted.
The short version
- This website sets no advertising trackers.
- The free tools run entirely in your browser — what you type into them never leaves your device.
- The iOS app uses analytics, attribution, subscriptions, and backend services.
- Photo access is optional. Nothing uploads for search until you choose or share a screenshot, URL, or request.
- Vinted purchases happen on Vinted, not in Vinted Finder.
- If you email us, we use your email address to reply.
Who controls this policy
Vinted Finder is a Really Nice product. For privacy questions, deletion requests, access requests, or anything else about your data, write to hello@vintedfinder.com.
The marketing website
vintedfinder.com is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare. Like nearly every site on the internet, the infrastructure that serves those pages keeps standard server logs — things like the IP address a request came from and which page was requested — for security and reliability. We don’t use those logs to profile you, and we haven’t layered any advertising or cross-site tracking on top.
The web tools
Every tool on this site — the query builder, the screenshot planner, the alert builder, and friends — runs client-side, in your browser. Nothing you type into them is transmitted to us or stored by us. Close the tab and it’s gone.
The iOS app
The Vinted Finder app is built around screenshots, links, and search preferences. Depending on what you choose to use, the app may process:
- screenshots, image URLs, or source URLs you choose or share;
- search preferences such as sizes, budgets, country, locale, and filters;
- search requests and returned Vinted listing suggestions;
- anonymous app identifiers used for backend access, entitlements, and analytics;
- purchase and entitlement status for App Store subscriptions or in-app purchases;
- notification permission status and push tokens if you opt into notifications;
- app events such as screens viewed, onboarding choices, and paywall actions.
The app may use Firebase for anonymous authentication, backend calls, notifications, and analytics; PostHog for product analytics; AppsFlyer for install attribution; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management; Apple for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and subscription management; and visual-search or marketplace-retrieval providers to produce search suggestions.
Photos and screenshots
If you grant photo-library access, the app may scan recent photos on your device for screenshots so it can make the search flow faster. iOS controls that permission, including limited-library access. Photo access does not mean every photo is uploaded. A screenshot, image, or URL leaves your device only when you choose or share it for search, or when a feature clearly needs it to return a result.
If you save a share card to Photos, iOS may ask for photo-library write access so the generated image can be saved to your device.
Search processing
When you run an app search, your request may be sent to our backend and to providers that help identify the item, create search queries, or retrieve Vinted listing suggestions. We use that data to provide the search result, debug failures, protect the service, and improve the product. We do not use your screenshots to sell items, contact Vinted sellers, buy products, or operate a Vinted account for you.
Analytics, attribution, and subscriptions
The app collects product analytics so we can understand whether flows work, diagnose errors, and improve onboarding, paywalls, alerts, and search. Analytics events may include choices like size unit, budget range, selected plan, permission result, screen viewed, and purchase result. They are not meant to include the actual contents of your screenshots.
Attribution helps us understand which marketing activity led to an install. Subscription providers help fetch prices, process purchases through Apple, restore purchases, and check whether you have an active Vinted Finder Pro entitlement. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase identifiers, receipts, subscription status, product identifiers, and related diagnostics needed for billing and entitlement management.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app may register a push token through Firebase Messaging. We use that token to send app notifications you requested or permitted, such as saved-alert updates. You can turn notifications off in iOS settings.
If you write to hello@vintedfinder.com, we keep the correspondence so we can actually answer you, and remember the context if you write again. We won’t add you to any mailing list without asking you first.
How long we keep data
We keep data only as long as it is useful for the reason it was collected: providing the app, keeping accounts and entitlements working, debugging issues, protecting the service, answering support, meeting legal obligations, and understanding product performance. Server logs, analytics data, support emails, subscription records, and provider logs may have different retention periods because they are handled by different systems.
Your choices
- You can deny or limit photo access in iOS settings.
- You can turn notifications off in iOS settings.
- You can manage or cancel Apple-billed subscriptions in your Apple Account.
- You can write to us to ask for access, deletion, correction, or export.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority. We will honor applicable privacy rights and may need information from you to verify the request.
Children
Vinted Finder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it where required.
International processing
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and countries in Europe. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Vinted
Vinted Finder is independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Vinted. When you open a listing, you’re on vinted.com, and from that moment Vinted’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.
App Store privacy details
Apple’s App Store product page may also show Vinted Finder’s app privacy details. Those labels summarize categories of data collection for App Store users; this policy explains the same practices in more detail and may be updated as the app changes.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top — no silent edits. Questions, worries, or requests about your data: hello@vintedfinder.com. A human reads it and a human replies.
